Consultations

What we do

We offer personalised consultations to explore your perimenopausal symptoms and the impact on your life. Work together with our menopause specialist to devise a treatment plan suitable to your individual needs. Whether that is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), non-hormonal treatments or lifestyle plans, we aim to improve your symptoms, quality of life and in turn, your long term health.

Our appointments are available face-to-face at our clinic in Bridge of Allan, Stirling, Central Scotland, or by virtual consultation online. You can self-refer to our clinic and do not need a referral letter from your GP.

What to expect

Pre-consultation

To get the most out of your time with our specialist we will ask you to complete a pre-consultation form all about you and your medical history.

Blood tests

Blood tests are not required to diagnose the perimenopause or menopause. We can usually diagnose based on your symptoms, however it can be helpful to check blood tests in certain situations such as:

  • in those under 40 years old
  • to exclude other causes of your symptoms such as anaemia and thyroid issues
  • to help guide hormone treatments (once established on HRT)
  • a routine health check including testing levels of cholesterol and for diabetes

If required, we can take your blood tests during your appointment at our clinic, or we can arrange for you to attend your local phlebotomy clinic provided by Nationwide Pathology. Phlebotomy clinics will charge a fee for taking the blood test, this is approximately £30
